Ferry
The island of Capri can be reached via ferry or hydrofoil from both Naples and Sorrento. Connections from Naples are accessible from both the port of Mergellina and Molo Beverello. The latter is more convenient since it offers connections that are more frequent and a bigger choice of ferries and hydrofoils. The ferry trip from Naples is about 80 minutes. The hydrofoil is a quicker means of transportation. The trip with it is 40 minutes but is also more expensive. You can also take a ferry from Sorrento. The trip takes only 40 minutes. Hydrofoils are also available from Sorrento for half the time of the ferry trip. Note that you will be charged if you carry luggage. A fee is paid for each luggage bag when you purchase the ticket. The schedule is subject to frequent changes, so it is advisable to call your individual travel company or stop at a local tourist office. Assistance can also be expected from your hotel.
