The island's other main town - Anacapri is more expansive and considered by some more scenic than Capri itself. The town is dominated by Piazza Vittoria, the main square. The piazza is sidelined with souvenir shops, trendy boutiques, and restaurants offering a special tourist menu. In a few words - Anacapri is Capri without the posh. A chair-funicular runs from Piazza Vittoria up to the highest point of Monte Solaro, from March until December every day until sunset. From November until February, it operates only from 10.30 am to 3 pm. The tickets cost 4euro - single, 5.50 euros return. Up on the hill you can enjoy the ruins of a historic castle and delight in beautiful views.
